Duck Pond...

5.13.2010

If you are wondering, yes, that is my shoe in the duck pond (the camera on my phone isn't very good these days so sorry about the blur on the side).

Today after I finished up my homework I stopped by Jordan's house. He had a few free hours so we were trying to figure out what to do. We decided to go feed the ducks, we've been planning on doing that for a while now and it's on my list. Surprisingly, I have never been to the duck pond, but I guess it's a good thing that I haven't because now we know what happens when I go there - sometimes it ends with a wet shoe.

I only had about 3 pieces of bread and they were moldy, I didn't throw them away because I knew we were going to feed the ducks. Turns out that ducks are very much like people in that they also don't really like moldy bread (ok...they do a little bit but not as much as regular bread, or maybe they were just full?). There was a piece of bread by the edge of the pond and I wanted to kick it in the water. Next thing I knew I was watching my shoe fly off my foot and into the pond. I couldn't believe it! A lady across the pond said, "My husband has a pole in the trunk." As he walked over to us he set up his fishing pole and fished my shoe out of the pond. He said, "I've never fished for one of these."

Don't worry, Jordan laughed for just about an hour about it and I'm sure the making fun wont end anytime soon. Overall, it was quite an eventful trip to the duck pond.

  3. I'm so glad you got your shoe back because I LOVE those shoes!! Little did I (or you) know when I complimented you on them at lunch that one of them would end up in a pond in a matter of a few short hours. :D
