This weekend we went to....

3.06.2011

When we went to Colorado a few weeks ago we left my Grandmother there for a little stay with my family. This weekend we had to go to Grand Junction to meet my family half way to bring her back home. Jordan and I decided to make a trip out of it. We had never been to Canyonlands so it was the prefect place to go.

We saw the most beautiful sunset and really enjoyed looking at the stars.

We woke up at 6 the next morning to go for a hike to watch the sunrise at Mesa Arch. We thought it was the perfect little hike, turns out all of the photographers did too.

This is the actual arch, and where all of the hardcore photographers camped out, so we didn't really get very much of a chance to take pictures there. But we did get to take some other sweet pics.

After the little sunrise hike, we headed back to camp to have breakfast. After breakfast we packed up and then headed out again for another hike. We were able to do 3 fun hikes before 12. We did Mesa Arch, Upheaval Dome, and White Rim Overlook.

Since we have been to Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, we need to go to Bryce Canyon, Zion's, and Capital Reef, so we can say that we have been to all of the National Parks in Utah.

Canyonlands is beautiful, and only about a 3 and a half hour drive from Provo. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quick little weekend camping trip.

  1. Love Moab, glad you guys made it to Canyonlands! How was it? We'll have to make another trip out there this year together.

  2. Check in with my sister that works at Bryce Canyon when you go. Also, the little town down in the valley that you see is where I grew up.
