Baby Brizuela

Welcome to the world little friend! On February 28, 2012, 6 lbs 12 oz and 18 1/2 in long, Gabriel James Brizuela was born with a perfect haircut.  I'm obsessed with his little toes and feet. Ok let's be honest, I'm obsessed with all of his tiny features. I love his newness. He is perfect.  Congratulations to Addie and Michael!

Say hello to our table.  This is where we eat our meals and do our homework, sometimes we play games, and sometimes I do crafts.  Bottom gets a lot of use.  I decided that our little table needed some sprucing up, a coat of paint, so I decided that the long weekend was the perfect time for this little project.

It took a lot of sanding....

And some wood putty...

Oh and tons and tons of paint.

And there you have it!  Say hello to our new yellow table!

I love it!  I didn't really have a color picked out, we just went to Lowes and we walked out with a can of this  yellow.  And I think it turned out great.

This is my second furniture painting adventure, my first being my nightstand.  Next I need to paint our chairs, they look sub-par in comparison to our sweet table.

Have you ever painted a piece of furniture?

I'm a Mormon.

I have recently started working on a new project that has been taking up all of my extra time.  I didn't feel like I had very much extra time to begin with, but I guess I did.  For this project I need/want to buy a new outfit.  I want to look professional, but still friendly.  Here are a few options I have found that I like.  Right now 1, 2, and 3 are tied as my favorite.  Which one do you like the best?  Any suggestions for where to look for a great skirt?

Valentines Date

Jordan and I headed up to Salt Lake yesterday afternoon for a little Valentines Date.  For Valentines Day I gave Jordan Jazz tickets, and since we didn't have school yesterday we thought we would head downtown a little bit early.  Rarely are we in Salt Lake when we aren't running around with tons of plans, rushing all around the town.  This was not the case yesterday.  We enjoyed a tasty meal at Blue Lemon before we wandered down to The Gateway to walk around the mall.  Then we headed to the Jazz game.

Jordan had a tasty sandwich with sweet potato fries on the side and I had some delicious soup.  And I can't forget the To-Die-For Italian Soda.  Yum!

The Jazz were playing the Spurs.  It was a fun game, even though they lost 106-102 (very close to the score of the game we went to for Valentines Day last year).  It was a great way to spend our day off!

Jordan is knee deep in midterms week.  He took a test on Thursday, we both took a test Friday night (wonderful date night, huh?), he took a test yesterday and will take another one on Tuesday.  Poor guy.

Yesterday, while he was taking his test, I wandered down to the duck pond and snapped a few pictures.  It was a beautiful day!

Any exciting plans for the day off tomorrow?  We're going to head to Salt Lake to go to another Jazz game.

Jordan gave me the most beautiful flowers for Valentines Day. I'm not even kidding. The most beautiful ever. Just another reason why he's the best.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day! I was thinking today about how much I like this holiday. I love that Jordan and I both get to celebrate. It's not like a birthday where it is just about me or just about him, but it is about both of us. I love having a forever Valentine. Jordan is a wonderful husband and I am so lucky to call him mine.  He brings me so much happiness and comfort every. single. day.

Tonight Jordan has class in Salt Lake, so we have been staggering our celebrations for the past few days and I have loved every bit of it.  I hope you are all enjoying your day of love as much as I am.

Time for some more feet pictures! To read about why, click here and to see more click here.

This first one is from Eliesa. It was taken while she was on her study abroad in Italy. This picture was taken in Monterosso, Italy. [p.s. check out her blog, I love it.]
Next, Jordan and I @ the Conference Center in Salt Lake after Chelsea's wedding.

This one is from my good friend Devon.  It was taken @ Samuel P. Taylor State Park, Marin County, CA.

Here is Lauren and Matt @ the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, CA.

And I think that concludes it for the water feet pictures this time around!  On to some non-water pictures...

This is my Aunt Pam, in Phoenix, Arizona, wearing the cutest shoes ever, and definitely with the most creative feet picture yet!

And last but not least Lauren and I @ the Jazz Game. We thought it was funny that we both had goofy socks and red.

And there you have it!  Where have you been lately?  If you'd like, email me your feet pictures and I will add them to my map and put them here on my blog!  [sorensencorina{at}]

I am kind of a meticulous journaler.  Or atleast I used to be.  I haven't been as good lately.  These are all of the journals I have had since high school.  In fact I think some are actually missing from these piles.

One of my favorite activities, is to look back through them and see what I did on this exact day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...years ago.  It's nice to see where I used to be and where I am now.  It's refreshing.

These days I get into the mindset that blogging is like my journaling, but nothing tops personal thoughts and feelings.  You know...the ones inside of you that you wouldn't want to share with the world, but don't quite mind writing down, to help you process them.  I know I need to get better at writing in my journal again.  I think it keeps me balanced.

The last picture is of my 4 favorite journals.  The ones I wrote in while I was in Jerusalem.  While I was there I was a crazy journaler.  4 journals in 3 1/2 months.

Are any of you journalers?  How do you find time these days?
