BEGIN California Trip | Day 3 | Corina's Corner

California Trip | Day 3

8.24.2012
We started our third day of vacation at the Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building. We wandered around the booths until we found something we wanted for breakfast: a breakfast sandwich, an almond scone, and a super delicious peach.

After the Farmer's Market we headed to Chinatown! We went to the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory, and looked at all of the fun shops. I love paper lanterns, so my favorite part of Chinatown was definitely the paper lanterns, it was so festive.  I loved it.

After Chinatown we headed to Pier 39 and then on to Fisherman's Wharf. We were scared by the Bushman, and loved the street performers. Then after that we went to Ghirardelli, where we had lunch, and got an ice cream sundae.

Then on to Lombard Street, which I was really excited about, and it totally lived up to all of it's hype. Luckily we weren't driving because the lines to drive down it were crazy long. After Lombard we headed one street over to Filbert Street. This street is the 4th steepest street in the world! It was unbelievably steep, I couldn't believe that cars were actually parked here without rolling down.

We ate dinner in Japantown after visiting some Japanese stationary stores, one of my favorite things in the world. We did so much walking all day and were so tired by the end. We walked everywhere except to Chinatown (we took a trolley) and back to our car from Japantown, where we took the bus.

To finish the day we headed over to Oakland to meet some friends at Fenton's (the ice cream parlor in Up!). We just couldn't call it a day without TWO more ice cream sundaes....I think we deserved it though, because of all of the walking. It was such a fun place and it was so great to see friends.

  4. I love these photos. My fave is the steep hill photos. I remember huffing and puffing going up those hills. But it was all worth it. Looks like you guys had fun!
