1. Jordan and I took a drive out to Saltair. It was pretty. We had fun. Oh and it was cold.

2. It was supposed to snow the other day and I walked outside and it looked like this. I was pleasantly surprised.

3. That very same blue sky day, I got a car wash. Afterward, I noticed some things that looked like strings hanging down from the back passenger door. I took a closer look and saw that the door guard had fallen off! I rushed back to the car wash and luckily it was still there. And for the record, I don't really like walking inside of car washes...

4. Today I found a dollar in the gutter. It must be my lucky day.

Carly's Bridals

I trudged out in the snow on Saturday to take some bridals of this blushing beauty. Besides being absolutely FREEZING, we actually had a really great time. I can't even tell you how much I love this girl! Carly was such a champ, marching through the snow in her wedding dress, standing in the freezing wind, and looking so beautiful and happy all at the same time. I'm really excited to shoot her wedding in a few weeks!

P.S. Doesn't she look stunning in that dress?!

And I just had to include these two as outtakes...

23 Weeks

Our little girl kicks all the time, especially if something is touching my belly, like a seat belt. My belly button is out a lot of the time, but is very squishy, and goes back in occasionally. It's been really hard for me to fall asleep at night. Two nights ago, I laid down at about 10:30, and didn't fall asleep until around 2. I have a hard time getting comfortable (what was I thinking sleeping on my stomach all my life?!).

My wedding ring still fits, and I don't think I'm very swollen anywhere, except I think my face is getting fat. My hair is growing like crazy (prenatal vitamins?). I got it cut to just below my shoulders in about October and it's already to the middle of my back, which would usually take twice as long as it has.

I had a doctor's appointment last week and he told me that I was a "specimen of health." Hopefully things stay this way!

And just for fun...

Counting Down

40 Days until this....and this my friends would be Hawaii.

Jordan and I haven't been on a REAL vacation since our honeymoon. In my mind a real vacation is where you 1) fly, to 2) somewhere exciting. Our California trip last summer was really fun, but we didn't fly, and I love flying. (Anyone else with me on this? Do you love or hate flying?)

Usually I would be thrilled to start shopping for cute swimming suits, but this time, I'm not quite sure how large my belly will be in 40 days. I don't want to buy a swimming suit prematurely, one that will fit me today and not in April... tricky situation!

This whole trip is kind of funny actually, because we bought the plane tickets the day before we found out I was pregnant! We were very worried for a while that we wouldn't be able to go at all, but the doc said it should be fine, and that I am A.o.k. to go!  I guess it's kind of a baby-moon, except that we're going with my aunt and her family. And that's actually the whole reason why we're going. They were talking about their trip and we asked if we could come along and they agreed! You see, my uncle loves hiking and all things outdoors and sometimes he doesn't have anyone to hike or go on adventures with, because my aunt hates all things that have to do with hiking. So while on this trip, we were going to hike the Na Pali Coast with my uncle. Now though, it will only be Jordan joining him which I'm a little bit bummed about, but I'm SO so excited to relax on the beach instead.

I. Cannot. Wait.

Valentine's Day

This year I decided to participate in a blogger Valentine's swap that Eryka and Kaitlyn hosted. I was assigned someone to send a package to and also received a cute package in return. It was so fun!

I had Melanie, and sent her a little package (pictured on the left) consisting of nail polish, washi tape, a cute notepad, and some gum. Oh and I put it all in a cute little mailbox.

Eryka had me and sent me a cute dishtowel, a notepad, some bubble bath, stickers, and to top it off, look how it all matched (pictured on the right)! I love it. I'm glad I decided to do this swap. It was really fun picking out a few things I thought Melanie would like. Plus, I love getting mail! Win, win!

Among other blogging Valentine's Festivities, I had fun making cards (pictured on the left) for a few friends. I made a few the traditional crafty way, you know, construction paper and glue, and I also made some with watercolor, which was fun, because I haven't painted in a while.

Jordan and I had a very low key Valentine's Day this year. We exchanged little gifts and went out to eat, at none other than our favorite restaurant, Red Robin. Very, very low key. I just had to include a picture of this cute little present (pictured on the right) Jordan gave me. He drilled holes in three pennies, an '86 penny, a '89 penny, and a 2010 penny, the years we were born and the year we got married! I love it. He also told me to keep my eye out for a 2013 penny to add to the collection, for our little babe.

I also decorated a few sugar cookies, and I think they turned out pretty so I wanted to include a picture of them! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this Valentine's season. What a fun holiday.

I was looking through some old pictures today of Jordan and I. I don't think we've changed very much but I'm pretty sure my opinion is skewed. I love looking at old pictures of couples I know, I think it is fascinating. Here are a few of ours:

This is the first picture we ever took together! We were on one of our first dates, at a Jazz game. I'm pretty sure I was on cloud 9.

And this was about a month before we got married, at Jordan's family reunion.

This isn't the best picture in the world, with that lovely yellow balloon coming out of our heads, but I still like it. We were training for our first half marathon, and on one of our long Saturday morning runs, when we ended up at the Balloon Festival.

Excuse my double chin, but I LOVE how happy Jordan looks in this picture. We had just picked up our marriage license, and thought it was so funny that we were taking a picture of an envelope that said "Do Not Bend." I'm not sure why we didn't just take it out of the envelope...

February seemed like a good month to reminisce about some of the fun memories we've had together. Happy (early) Valentine's Day!

Did I mention...

That's right! Little Baby Sorensen is a girl! I was really hoping that it would be a girl, because there just aren't very many girls in either of our families, and it just seemed like time for another one to arrive. We actually found out the gender the same day Austan opened his mission call, AND it just happened to be Jordan's mom's birthday, so it was quite the day.

We went to the doctor on January 17th and they immediately asked us if we were interested in finding out the gender, we replied that we were very interested and right away they said, "Oh! It's definitely a girl!" I think I immediately started crying, and continued to cry throughout the entire ultrasound. I had a few ultrasounds previous to this but for some reason, knowing that it was our little girl that we were watching wiggle around, made it so much more emotional for me and so much more meaningful. After the ultrasound, they moved us into a regular check-up room for our monthly visit, and I still couldn't stop crying. I wasn't bawling, but I was just so overwhelmed with happiness that I couldn't contain it. The nurse came in and said, "I hope those are happy tears...Are they?" I said yes. I think I probably would have been just as happy to find out that it was a boy, because I was mostly just happy that the baby is healthy. I was so amazed at all of the information they can get from those ultrasounds. They told us that she has a 4 chamber heart, and no cleft lip, all of her limbs are there, they looked at her brain and said that it looked good, and they even told us that her little femur was 1 inch long. SO incredible!

We're still working on a name, I figure we still have a few months until we have to have one nailed down, but we're working on it. I always had a few names I liked in the back of my head, but now that I'm actually naming a child, I mean the name that this person will have for the rest of their life, I feel so stressed about picking the most beautiful name that ever existed, and none seem to match that description yet. For now I have had lots of fun looking at all of the cute girl clothes at Baby Gap (and all of the cute clothes my mom has already bought for her!) and fantasizing about what she will look and be like.

P.S. This was my 500th blog post! WOO!

Austan's Mission Call

When I posted this yesterday, I realized that I still hadn't posted about Austan's mission call!  On January 17th we headed down to Provo so Jordan's youngest brother, Austan, could open his mission call. His call wasn't sent to him at the dorms, it was sent to Sandy, where it sat for A FULL DAY AND A HALF(!) before he decided he wanted to open it. I was so tempted to open it multiple times, but I resisted.

I love the full range of emotions in these pictures. I can tell he was really nervous in that first picture. Then the opening began, the flip, and then pure excitement!

He was called to the Guatemala City South Mission, and reports on May 1 to the Guatemala City MTC. He is the first brother to not go to the Provo MTC, but the second brother to learn Spanish. We're a little bit bummed that he will miss seeing Landan come home by about a month and a half, and that they will have to wait another 2 years before seeing each other again. And I'm also a little sad that he will miss meeting our little baby for 2 years as well but overall we're still so excited for Austan to start this new adventure! Congratulations Austan!

21 Weeks

I am more than halfway! Yahoo! My belly keeps getting bigger. I swear it is bigger when I wake up in the morning than when I went to bed the night before. I have definitely started to feel our little baby move around, especially at night, right when I lay down for bed. I think I would take advantage of that extra space too though, so it doesn't bother me, in fact I like it. And now that I know what it feels like, I have been feeling the movements throughout the day as well. I image that all of the commotion means, "I'm doing great in here, just growing and getting bigger and stronger!" Jordan has even been able to feel the kicking a few times, which I think is really fun.

I'm still sick occasionally but probably only once or twice a week. I have a really hard time with anything touching my belly, like pants, or anything like that (sometimes even shirts too, if they're too tight), so I try to avoid them at all costs, unless I have to leave the house. Otherwise it's sweatpants and a T-shirt all day. I think I need to get some more maxi skirts and dresses, because those God-sent things don't touch the belly.

It has gotten a little bit harder to move around. I can't bend over as easily, or stand up (without help or a bit of a struggle) if I'm on the ground. Last week, I was checking out at the grocery store and I tried to move from the front of my cart to the back of my cart and my belly almost didn't let me squeeze past in the little walkway between checkout stations. I was caught off guard and surprised by how big my belly felt in that moment. No aches or pains anywhere (like my feet or back) which I am still very happy about. And speaking of feet, my ankles are still the correct size, which is also great. Things are going great!

P.S. If you would like a Valentine's Card, please email me your address, before Friday, so I can get them in the mail this weekend!
