One Month

Here is what the first month in the life of Miss Reagan Jane looks like from the view of my phone. The pictures on my phone suddenly became a whole lot more interesting once she was born. Funny how that worked...

I have a hard time processing the fact that she is a month old. Parts of me can't believe it's already been a month, but I also sort of feel like it's been way longer. She is already the center of our universe and the greatest source of joy in our lives.

She's starting to be more alert and aware of what's going on around her. She still sleeps for most of the day, but her awake time is getting longer and longer.

She usually sleeps really well at night (with the exception of last Saturday, which was the worst night thus far... she was awake and fussy from about 12-4am).

She makes lots of funny faces, and is starting to smile a little bit.

She is a major binky hound, so we make sure the binky is never too far away.

She loves to have her hands by her face and head. She usually sleeps with both of her hands above her head, we like to call this the touchdown position.  Sometimes if we swaddle her, she will be ok, but usually she freaks out because her arms are trapped. It doesn't take very long for her to weasel her arms out.

She loves baths and getting her hair washed.

She loves lounging in her bouncy chair or swing. Both usually put her to sleep.

She is still wearing newborn clothes, but we sometimes sneak a 0-3 month outfit on her, even though she drowns in it.

She is sort of starting to hold her head up. She can hold it up on her own for about 10 seconds at a time.

I'm not sure if she likes tummy time or not, sometimes she's ok with it but other times, she just fusses.

I'm not sure how much she weighs right now, but at her two week appointment she was at 8lbs 5oz, so almost back up to her birth weight. She still seems really little, but she is a really good eater, so we're not too worried. I am worried however, that one of these days we're going to close our eyes and the next thing we know she'll be big. I love her little-ness.

I love my one month old Reagan Jane.

  1. She is beautiful! So cute and tiny. :)

  2. So cute! Is her umbilical cord still on? It took forEVER for Ava's to fall off, I remember thinking how weird it was that it was staying on so long. Glad she's sleeping well for you!

  3. Oh my goodness! that little red polka dot number! I could just die, she's so darn cute :)
