Fourth of July

7.05.2013

We had an absolutely perfect 4th of July today. Perfect! Jordan started the day by going on a 39 mile bike ride around the Alpine loop with my uncle Jim. While he was gone, Reagan and I got a little bit of extra sleep :)

For lunch we went to a picnic up Provo Canyon, at South Fork Park and thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful weather.  The park was packed. It was so fun to look around and see lots of people, enjoying a day off of work, celebrating with their friends and family. I think the 4th of July is my favorite holiday, because it doesn't matter how you celebrate, there is no pressure, no stress, it's about family time, picnics, good weather, fireworks.... only really wonderful things.

After the picnic, we grabbed some shave ice and then headed home to ogle over Reagy, passing her around, admiring this brand new member of our family, who we all can't seem to get enough of. We played a few games, but mostly relaxed for the rest of the night, while half of my family went to the Stadium of Fire. I was kind of sad we couldn't go this year, but it just wouldn't have worked with a 3 week old (by the way, my little baby is 3 weeks old today!). Instead though, we ate a delicious dinner with bratwurst, corn on the cob, and potato salad. We finished the night with cherry-peach cobbler and watching all of the fireworks from my aunt and uncle's deck, which was awesome. There were SO many fireworks all over the valley, it was almost overwhelming. I loved it! I love fireworks. I love my family. And I love the 4th of July! It was a great day.

Happy Independence Day!
