And there he goes!

4.30.2013

Jordan's baby brother Austan left on his mission tonight. He got his call back in February, and it seemed like this day was SO far away, but here it is. Usually missionaries leave on Wednesday's but he left tonight because he is headed to the Guatemala City MTC. We were sad to see him leave but he will be a great missionary and we couldn't be more excited for him. Good luck Austan! See you in two!

My belly made the recreation of this photo quite difficult. I could barely hop up on to the ledge, let alone kneel, that's why I'm just sitting on the ledge in the photo below. It is so crazy to think about all of the changes that have happened since the first picture was taken. I barely even feel like the same person! I was so little, no college experience, had never lived on my own, before I went to Jerusalem, before I met Jordan, or married him...etc. Even though so many things have changed, it wasn't really all that long ago. I guess the best way to describe it is that it's just one of those feels like yesterday kind of things. All in all, BYU was so good to me and my time there will forever be full of happy memories. Go Cougs!

Graduation

4.26.2013

Even though I got my diploma in the mail in January, I still wanted to walk at graduation. And since BYU doesn't do a graduation ceremony in December, April was my answer. I had a great time and I'm so glad my family was able to come and support me!

Light

4.22.2013

I was thinking about this quote a lot last week, amid the chaos and sadness in Boston. I also mentioned it in a blog post back in January, when things were going a bit rough. I think that it is just something that I always need to remember, especially when things don't go as planned, so I whipped up this little poster as a reminder.

Quick Trip Home

4.21.2013
I had the best time this week at home. I was only able to be home for a few days but it was SO nice to be there. I got there Wednesday evening after my plane was delayed a few hours because of a bit of a blizzard (but I can hardly call it an actual blizzard, the snow was all gone the next day).

Thursday, I had lunch with my parents at Maggiano's, one of my favorite restaurants (which we don't have in Utah). After lunch I was able to spend a few hours catching up with Kara, who just returned home from her mission in Toronto. Then, as if lunch wasn't good enough, we went to dinner at Benihana with my Grandma, followed by ice cream at Coldstone. (Seriously, wow! The food alone on this trip was well worth it, not to mention the people I was able to see!) One other really fun part about dinner was that the Nuggets were having a team dinner at Benihana while we were there. It was crazy to see all of these huge guys walk in to the restaurant. It was awesome. I'm glad I was able to spend some time with my grandma on my quick trip as well as see her new house, which was fun.

Friday, my mom and I did a bit of baby shopping (I'm finally feeling a bit more confident about the arrival of this little girl, now that I'm getting more and more baby gear). We got some great stuff, including the stroller I have had my eyes on for a while. Saturday morning I had breakfast with Rachel and Kara. It was SO fun to spend time with both of these girls! I haven't seen Rachel since last summer, and I can't even remember the last time I was with just Kara and Rachel. It was so fun to catch up. After breakfast we headed to my brother's track meet, and then right afterward my dad and I hit the road back to Utah, so I would be able to make it in time for my brother-in-law, Austan's mission farewell this morning!

I hadn't been home since last simmer, and I'm SO glad I was able to take this quick trip!

Beach Baby Bump | 30 Weeks

4.17.2013

Since I didn't really get to do my 29 weeks post, we'll have a little pregnancy update with this post instead. One evening after dinner, we headed to the beach and took some Maternity shots. All of these pictures were taken by Jordan and my Aunt Annett, and I think they did a great job! These were taken at 30 weeks, and I'm so glad I will always be able to remember what my belly was like. It's so weird that it wont be just Jordan and I for very much longer. The last two photos definitely make me feel like some kind of pregnant Hawaiian Princess or something, the sky was soooo pretty, and we just had to take advantage with some silhouette pictures.

The pregnancy has been going well. My feet got really swollen coming back from Hawaii, but they have returned to their normal state. My fingers are getting a little bit swollen, and the only reason why I know is because my wedding ring has been feeling pretty tight. It might be time to take it off soon.

A few random people have told me that I look huge. For example, the woman at the post office yesterday. She said, "Whoa, you look like you could have a baby any day!" To which I replied, " Actually, I have two more months."  She then followed that with, "Oh, well you're going to have a HUGE baby!" Mmhmmm, thanks post office lady.  I don't quite feel huge, but I guess I look huge.

Sleeping has been less than ideal and I'm usually really tired by the time afternoon rolls around. I can't sleep on my belly, sleeping on my sides isn't very comfortable, and I'm not supposed to sleep on my back. Maybe I should try standing?

Other than looking huge and sleep, things are going great. I'm getting more and more excited to meet this little baby!

Hawaii Fisheye | Part 4

4.16.2013
I just had to bring my Fisheye camera to Hawaii. We had fun taking it to the beach. I love the unpredictability of using this camera and I REALLY love the multiple exposures. Here are some of my favorites:

Hawaii | Part 3

4.15.2013
I loved all of the plants and flowers in Kauai. Like I said before, everything is SO green there. Green and beautiful. I almost didn't bring my big camera to Hawaii, because I was really nervous about the sand. (When I was in Jerusalem a tiny piece of sand got inside my point and shoot and I was out a camera the last month and a half I was there.) But I'm really glad I did, because for me taking pictures is only fun if I have pretty or fun things to take pictures of, and everything in Hawaii is definitely in that category.

I can't forget to mention the delicious food we ate while we were there. My number one favorite, is of course Shave Ice (if that can be considered a food). I always love Guava juice as well as P.O.G. (Passion, Orange, Guava Juice). One night while we were on the south side we went to Puka Dogs for dinner. It was SO yummy (think of it as Kauai's J Dawgs). Instead of using a bun, they use a bun sized loaf of bread and then poke a hole almost all of the way through it and then put the hot dog and the sauces inside. My all time favorite Hawaiian food however, is a good old plate lunch; 2 scoops of rice, 1 scoop of macaroni salad and my favorite Chicken Katsu.
