Colorado Trip

Reagan and I just got home from a fun trip to Colorado. We were there for 9 days, which is much longer than our usual trips, so we were able to do a lot of things we usually skip because we had some extra time. Here are a few photos from my phone of our trip:

We bought a one-way ticket to Colorado, with plans to ride back to Utah with Annett at the end of our stay. I was SUPER nervous about the flight, because if you know Reagan at all, you know she NEVER, never, ever sits still. She is always moving. And she hates cuddling or being held. Somehow, miracle of all miracles, we got totally lucky and there was an empty seat next to us. Hallelujah! Because of that, we survived the flight (with only a few minor break downs, and a broken stroller).

I'll be posting more pictures of this later, but I was dying to go to Voodoo Doughnut while I was there, and let me tell you, I am a big fan of the Captain Crunch doughnut.

One day we headed up to Louisville and went to Blue Parrot for lunch and had some DELICIOUS homemade spaghetti and meatballs. SO tasty. I hadn't been there since I was probably five.

Since we're talking about food, let me mention two more... I finally made it to Crave and loved it. My burger had Pico di gallo, and pineapple on it, which was surprisingly a divine combination. We also had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory one day, one of my favorites.

My mom took me to go get a pedicure and I loved it! I can't really do that very often any more (what with a running toddler and all), and we did lots of riding in the car, which called for a #carselfie.

I scored the deal of the century at Ikea and got this 8 foot butcher block counter-top from the As-is section for $70 and we also took a quick trip to Dave & Buster's. We were way good at Whack-a-mole. (P.S. my brother's have beautiful teeth. Dylan got his braces off the day before we got there.)

One of the highlights for me was Waterworld. Reagan had an absolute blast (see here) and was an angel baby despite the bit of rain we had right before it closed. She loved the Lazy River and the kiddie area.

We were able to spend one afternoon at the temple. I realized I hadn't been back since our wedding day.

One morning we climbed the Castle Rock, one of my favorite things to do in Colorado. I'll be posting more pictures about this too.

And of course I can't forget to mention our new favorite store, the Vera Bradley Outlet. We spent lots of time there, and with my mom, Annett, Ann, and I we bought a total of 16 wallets, 12 purses, 3 duffle bags, 3 cosmetic bags, 2 keychains, 2 journals, 1 iPad sleeve, 1 hair straightener cover, 1 blanket, and a desk organizer.

We did a few other fun things that I don't have pictorial evidence of including a birthday dinner for my dad at Benihana, a day spent with my Grandma working on Family History, a bit more shopping including a big Thrift Store visit, Babies'R'Us, Cherry Creek Mall, Garden Ridge, dinner at Shari's, and some fires in the backyard. Another great trip in the books!

  1. Holy Vera Bradley! I remember seeing that on your mom's insta and could not believe it! haha This looks like the best trip! Can't wait to see that counter top in your kitchen, so nice you were driving back to take it with you!

    1. We actually couldn't fit it! So I'm waiting for my dad to drive it over in his truck... Can't wait to get it!!
