A Day in the Life...

3.31.2015

Every 6 months or so I like to try to capture our daily routine, and since our last one was in September it was time to lug that camera around all day and try to snap some pictures of our day. Here is what our March 30th, looked like:

Here I am in all of my bedhead glory. Our day started a little later than usual, because Reagan slept in until about 8:45. I love when she sleeps in!

For breakfast we had eggs and toast, scrambled for Reagan and over-easy for me. Reagan also had a little bit of honey on her toast.

She is always so good about remembering to say our prayers on the food.

After breakfast Reagan watched some Daniel Tiger, while I did the dishes and then hopped on the computer for a minute.

When I noticed that Reagan was looking a little tired, I jumped on the opportunity to lay her down for a little morning nap/rest.

She usually doesn't take a morning "nap," but she always takes a morning rest, where she lays quietly in her bed.

Her morning quiet time/rest, is just long enough for me to read my scriptures....

...and take a bath.

Once I'm out of the bath, Reagan is usually ready to get up too, so we'll both get dressed.

Just for fun here's a picture of my large 33 weeks pregnant belly...

Then it's time to do Reagan's hair, which we do while she brushes her teeth (which allows me to actually do her hair, while she's moderately distracted).

Then I needed to do my hair. Reagan usually goes through every cabinet in the bathroom while I'm blow drying my hair, pulling out every bottle of lotion or hair spray she can find.

I try to finish as quickly as possible, because the faster I am the smaller the mess Reagan makes. (P.S. taking a picture while blow drying hair is hard)

Not pictured: Reagan's melt down when I tried to put on her socks. She had to spend a few minutes in time out. While she was cooling down, I put on my make up.

Today we were going to meet Jordan for lunch (all of the days I have done our A Day in the Life posts we have met Jordan for lunch, which we like to try to do once a week).

Today we met Jordan at Freebirds, because he had a free burrito for his half birthday. Reagan had a quesadilla and some apple juice. It was tasty.

After we finished, we still had a little time so we went next door for some frozen yogurt, where we had a buy one get one coupon. Mine, pictured on the left, was probably the yummiest concoction of frozen yogurt I've ever had (cake batter, fruit punch, and pineapple yogurt, with m&m's, cookie dough, Reese's bites, peanuts, gummy bears, and pineapple. Yum!)

Reagan fell asleep in the car while we were driving home. I carefully tried to transfer her to her bed once we got home. While she napped I put my feet up for a little while. By the way, I hate when she falls asleep in the car. When she falls asleep in the car, she never takes her real nap. It's always about an hour and a half shorter than usual.

When she woke up I decided to bag up some cookies I had made the night before, so we could take them to a few neighbors/friends.

Reagan helped me by eating as many cookies as she could get her hands on.

When I finished, we ran a few errands, one being a quick trip to DI to get rid of some junk.

After we got home Reagan played outside for a little while. She ran around....

...played with chalk....

...and her ball.

Not pictured: My visiting teachers came over for a quick visit, which I love. Reagan loves it too. She made them read her lots of books.

Reagan is usually standing here at the front window from about 5:00-5:30, waiting for Jordan to get home, one of her (and mine) favorite times of day. She gets so excited when she sees his car.

When Jordan got home he wanted to work on the yard for a little bit. Reagan helped. I stayed inside and avoided the sun.

Then we ran to Lowe's really quick to buy some tack cloth.

When we got home we made dinner. Tonight we had chicken pita sandwiches, with tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, avocado, and J Dawgs sauce, with carrots, grapes, and french fries (the fries weren't done cooking when I took this picture). Reagan had some grapes, pretended to eat some carrots, and some left over lo mein.

After dinner, we facetimed with my family for a minute...

...and then had a mini Family Home Evening (consisting of some songs and roll the ball) before we put Reagan to bed.

Once Reagan was in bed Jordan and I started our real FHE tonight which was going over our budget. (We usually do this on the first Monday of every month, but sometimes if there's a 5th Monday we'll do it then instead of waiting until the next week)

Budget always take a million hours. I'm really glad we do it, but it always takes forever. We finished at about 11, and then finally headed to bed.

And that was our day. Whew! Glad we made it to the end. Writing about my day has made me just as tired as living it, and now I want to go take a nap.

(Past Day in the Life posts: Reagan 15 months, Reagan 7 months, Reagan 6 weeks)

Spring

3.30.2015

Just when I'm ready to curl up into a little ball and cry because I'm SO sick of winter, spring comes. And happily I can say spring is now here! And there are blossoms, flowers, flip flops, and sidewalk chalk all around to remind me. We went on a little walk after church yesterday and enjoyed all of the pretty colors of springtime. Spring is simply the very best (followed by summer, which is tied with spring as the very best season). It's just going to get better from here on out! We're looking forward to Easter, warmer weather, picnics, swimming, and of course a new baby sister for Miss Reagan Jane. Hoppy Spring!

Twenty One Months

3.19.2015
It's been a while since I've done a Reagan Instagram/Phone Photo Dump, and I'd say it's way past due. Reagan is so awesome. She's been doing so many fun/funny things these days, I can hardly keep up. She totally acts like a 2 year old (read: tantrums and rage) and she's a complete sponge. She will remember and say or copy the silliest stuff. She is such a fun little human, and I love her to pieces.

^^We found these ridiculous glasses at Target the other day, and Reagan loved them. She wore them like they were her most favorite accessory, and wouldn't take them off. She just loved them. She was mad when I didn't buy them (but can you blame me, they were like $9?) Also, Reagan is pretty proficient at saying Tar-gea, which probably means we go there a bit to often.

^^To keep with the accessory talk, she likes hats and things on her head (most all things on her head are called hats whether they actually are hats or not). She likes headbands and hair ties (called pretties), and also likes getting her hair brushed or done.

^^I caught her with her toes in her mouth the other day while we were in the drive-thru line at Sonic. I thought she looked so silly, and she clearly wasn't sure why.

We played with chalk on our back patio and not only were her hands and clothes completely covered but so was her face because she kept putting her face on the concrete. I'm not sure why, but she was having a grand old time. She loves coloring, with crayons, pencils, markers (although, I'll only let her use the mess free ones that only work on the special paper), and even chalk. She's a little artist in the making.

(Also, just for the sake of recording, she's had a runny nose for about a month and a half. Most of it is due to getting 2 new teeth, but I sure am ready for it to stop.)

^^Where's Reagan? This is her favorite hiding place, behind the curtains. She spends lots of time behind these curtains and the curtains out our front window, which she really likes because she can see through them. She also thinks it's just about the funniest thing to give kisses through the curtains.

We bought her a new pair of tennis shoes the other day at the Nike Outlet. The second we walked in the store she yelled, "SHOES" and was so so thrilled to put them on and try them out. She insisted on carrying the box to the check out and then carrying the bag around the rest of the mall.

^^That grin, and those cheeks, and her curly hair. Ah! She's perfection.

She loves baths. Any chance she gets she wants to take a bath. With bub-bues (bubbles). And then after the bath, we always lotion her up and that could very well be her other most favorite thing. She LOVES lotion. Whenever she sees me putting lotion on my hands or face (or even hand sanitizer) she wants some too).

^^I just had to include this crazy hair picture, because I'm not sure if her hair has ever been as wild as that.

And we'll finish the pictures with this little diva. This was before we stopped using the high chair (because she kept sitting on it like this). She wanted a morning snack, and insisted on wearing her jacket, sunglasses, and a ring to do so, while dangerously sitting on the edge of the high chair.

She is so independent, and opinionated. And while this is the case, she is getting better at asking for help when she needs something. She will say, "hep you" which really means, "help me."

She is growing up so fast and is getting so big. She wears 4T clothes, size 6/7 shoes, weighs about 33lbs, and has 14 teeth (but I'm pretty sure two more are coming soon). She loves singing, and has many favorite songs, some being: Popcorn Popping, Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes, WiseMan, Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee, Row, Row, Row your Boat, and Itsy Bitsy Spider.

She still takes one great nap a day ranging from 2-3 hours (and even longer sometimes if I'm really lucky). She wakes up at about 7:30 everyday and we try to put her to bed by 8.

I'm kind of in denial that I'm going to have 2 kids soon, and that it wont be just Reagan and I anymore. Time is going by SO fast.
