Ice Castles

I have been wanting to visit the Ice Castles for about 7 years. Ha! I'm not sure what took us so long. We just have never been able to go. I decided that nothing was going to stop me this year and bought our tickets early. Reagan was looking forward to visiting Elsa's castle for weeks. We kept having to tell her, "Not today, on Saturday we're going to Elsa's castle." There were tons of people there, that was kind of over whelming, but other than that it was awesome. The ice was incredible. I LOVED the little slot canyons all around, and Reagan was a huge fan of exploring especially all of the little tunnels she could crawl through. She also loved the ice slide, we kind of had to drag her away from it because she kept cutting in line to go down the slide.

^^Whenever she's come down the slide this is the face she'd make. Hahah! So funny. I'm not sure why, but it was hilarious.



Reagan was totally star struck when she saw Anna and Elsa. She didn't know what to say or do. They were so nice to her and gave her hugs. She couldn't gather her thoughts/words until we started walking away and then she said, "That's Anna and Elsa, I saw them!" We asked her what they said to her and she said, "Elsa is nice."

Monster Jam

If you know me at all you know I love trying new things, having new experiences, going to new places or restaurants, etc... Well last night was definitely a first for us. We went to Monster Jam! I knew going in to it what the show was going to consist of, the various vehicles and events, but one thing I was SORELY unprepared for was the noise. Even now, I'm still shocked at how dang loud it was. Holy COW! It was mind numbingly loud. We had brought some head phones for Reagan but we thought we'd be fine. Wrong. We ended up buying some earplugs at the stadium for us because I'm not sure we would have survived without them. The noise definitely contributed to the atmosphere. It was full of energy and excitement, and I do have to say it was pretty awesome when those things would jump, flip, and crash. I think my favorite event of the night was the wheelie contest. Those trucks are crazy!



^^Those poor cars ended up completely CRUSHED! At one point I forgot that those were full sized cars. Like regular cars. Those monster trucks would drive over them like they were just a small bump in the road!



We asked Reagan what she thought about everything and she said that she saw a green truck and that the trucks went "Vrooooom!" We had a great time! I'm not even a car/ATV/dirt bike/monster truck loving person and I still thought it was awesome!! Monster Jam has two more shows this weekend in Utah. I recently saw this article floating around on Facebook. The title alone drew me in. I needed to know what these successful people were doing in the mornings, because there are few things in life I love more than sleeping in. I love staying in my warm, cozy bed until my body has had it's fair share of sleep. I also love having a slow, relaxing morning, lounging while I eat my breakfast and catch up on reading.

Unfortunately (or fortunately), I love my children more than sleep and they like to wake up before the sun. And because children are unpredictable at best my mornings occasionally feel frazzled, and frazzled mornings usually result in frazzled days. I have found a few things however, that can knock me back on course, boost my energy, and help me start the day strong. Check out my tips below:

1. Go to bed earlier. I know, this is the worst. I want to stay up late and get everything done, or get nothing done at all (ahem...Netflix). Either way, I just want to stay up late! But come morning, I will regret it. As old as this makes me sound, I have been trying to be in bed by 9:30 every night and it has made all the difference.

2. Wake up early for a bit of ME time. I'm not talking about waking up hours early, just a few minutes to gather yourself and do that one thing, that you really want to do. Waking up on my terms can make all the difference. This is especially important if you're a parent. I LOVE those days when I can wake up before my kids and just have a few minutes to myself before I spend my whole day focused on them.

3. Make your bed. I saw this video a while ago and ever since I've been hooked (just go watch it... it's only 1 minute 37 seconds long). It's a simple task that can jump start my day and encourage me to accomplish more. Of course, there are days where I don't get around to making my bed, but I do know that making it will help me feel less frazzled and also boost my energy and desire to do the little things right, which will encourage me to do the big things right. Plus, every time I go in my bedroom I'm reminded that I've already checked something off my to-do list.

4. Nourish your soul. For me it usually looks like this, however, it could also look like morning meditation or some form of spiritual enlightenment. Taking a few minutes to illuminate my mind each morning helps me to stay strong, secure, and grounded. And if you're not into this sort of thing, check this out and you might change your mind.

5. Eat a nutritious breakfast. A well balanced breakfast sets me on course for the day I want to have, not the day that wants to have me. Whether its scrambled eggs and bacon or yogurt, fruit, and belVita Breakfast Biscuits, I make sure to fuel my body with delicious and nutritious food.

Naomi | 8 Months

Wow this has taken me FOREVER to get around to. I thought I liked this idea of holding Naomi for these monthly pictures but what I didn't think about was how in the winter months Jordan is never home during the daylight hours so we have to take these pictures on the weekends, and our weekends always seem to fill up and we never get around to it.

Naomi is still a super cute little babe. Charming and sweet. She chows on baby food these days and REALLY loves to feed herself. She likes the little puffs, but also likes to feed herself little bites of banana, avocado, orange, and raspberries. There has yet to be a kind of baby food she hasn't liked. She likes to fall asleep with a bottle will still take the binky but doesn't love it. Rolls and rolls all over the place and has started to lift her chest off the ground. I know crawling is right around the corner. She's a go getter like her big sister. She knows what she wants and must have it. If she sees a toy that she could possibly play with she will find a way to get it. This is in part due to the fact that she has an incredible reach. She is getting so big!
