101+ Things to do in Utah | UPDATED

UPDATE: I decided it was about time I update my grand Utah To Do List. A few of the things on my previous version have since closed and I also wanted to add a few new favorites to the list. So here you go!

Utah is a great place. There are fun downtowns, great small-towns, delicious restaurants, and tons of fun hikes and beautiful lakes. Whether you're a total foodie, an outdoor enthusiast, or someone who loves to experience new things, there is something on this list for you! I have worked really hard to compile this very thorough list of things to do all over the state of Utah. This project was fun because I have personally been to every single place on this list. If you're at a loss for something to do, look no further!

Let's get started with some of the Outdoor stuff you can do in Utah. We love being outside, and if you do too, you'll love these next few things on my list.

Photo Dump

^^Jordan and I bought season tickets to watch the BYU football team. It's been a pretty REALLY crappy season for them, but it's still fun to be there and go to the games. I just love that school. And as a bonus...We can now get REAL Diet Coke at the games, so that's obviously great! Our seats are 2 rows behind Dave and Martha's, and 3 rows in front of Devan's. We bought 2 tickets and my family bought 1, so every game is basically a family party. Last week no one from my family came so we got to bring Reagan. She got really into the "First Down!" thing, it's just too bad we didn't have more of them.

^^From a few weeks ago... We were riding in the car and Reagan says "Look what I can do mom!" It was a big deal because Naomi figured this out like a year ago and Reagan couldn't do it for the longest time. We thought maybe she would be one of the people who can't do it, but lo and behold, it just took her a while to figure out.

The second picture was from her pumpkin patch field trip. I loved going with her and seeing her with all of her little friends.

^^I got my hair done for the first time in forever (please sing it like Anna!) so it had to be documented with a bathroom PJ selfie and of course a picture with that weird space helmet heater thing. I had a traumatic experience a few months ago when I discovered my first gray hair... I guess I'm getting old.

^^My friend Emily is always so on top of it and plans the best holiday parties. We have been to Christmas cookie swap parties, and two Easter Egg Hunts, and we had such a fun time a few weeks before Halloween at a cookie decorating party with all of our friends from our old neighborhood.

That same day we got family pictures taken and on our way out the door we snapped a quick picture on our porch. I couldn't help it because we seriously looked SOOOO GOOD! Hah! We clean up well.

^^Double piggy back riding with such a fun dad. He makes all of their wildest dreams come true.

And then we have a grocery store picture. For whatever reason I wanted to remember that moment. Their ages, sizes, dresses...etc. Whenever we go to Smith's we have to stop by the bakery and get a cookie and then head over to the produce department to get their free piece of fruit. As you can probably imagine, Smith's is just about their favorite place ever.

^^On Halloween we stopped by City Creek on our way to Trick-or-Treat at Papa Dave's office and our little Minnie Mouse ran into Mickey and we thought it was pretty funny.

^^We went to an exceptionally yummy restaurant the other night for date night and I had to snap a picture, because I guess I'm a millennial. It was called Sweet Lake Biscuits and Limeade.

And the second picture was just another moment I wanted to remember. Messy room, silly face, good life.

Raking Leaves

Since we live in an older neighborhood with HUGE trees (I'm talkin' HUGE) we also have HUGE amounts of leaves in our yard. I'm not sure what kind of tree we have in our front yard but for whatever reason it held on to it's leaves way longer than all of the other trees on our street. While most of the other trees are already bare, ours is just starting to shed it's leaves. Today me and the girls attempted to do some raking. We filled our huge yard waste trash can and still have a monstrous pile of leaves. I couldn't help but snap a few pictures while we were playing (before Reagan hit Naomi in the head with her broom and then Naomi retaliated by hitting Reagan in the head with the baby rake). It was fun while it lasted even if we did have to take a break to cool down for a few minutes.

^^See what I'm talking about? Still SOOOOO many leaves on that tree.....

I also wanted to share two pictures that my grandma's cousin shared with me that were taken in the 1950's of my grandma and some of her siblings and cousins playing in the yard at the house we now live in. There are no leaves anywhere, and the trees are bare and some of the kids are wearing coats so I'm guessing these were probably taken in the spring, but comparing the size of the trees in these pictures with how HUGE the trees are now just blows my mind. And the chain link fence behind them...we JUST replaced it. I didn't realize it was that old! Crazy!

^^That old car! I love it. And honestly all of the houses you can see on our street still look basically the exact same. These pictures are so cool to me!

^^This picture is taken from the front yard, not the back yard, but it is roughly the same angle, with the light post and the car parked in the same spot and the exact same houses as all those years ago.

Halloween 2017

Well another Halloween is in the books! This year we had Belle and Minnie Mouse, and they were just the cutest. Last year Naomi was too small to really understand what was happening so it was fun to have both girls totally understanding the holiday this year. Leading up to Halloween we watched The Nightmare Before Christmas, Hocus Pocus, and Room on the Broom, I got to go on a field trip to the pumpkin patch with Reagan's preschool class, we carved pumpkins, we had a few Halloween decorations up in our house and all of this made this years holiday even more fun. The girls went to Dave and Martha's Trunk-or-treat, and showed off their costumes and did some trick-or-treating at Jordan's office and Dave's office as well. And then they were lucky enough that Jordan had enough patience left in him to also take them around the block last night, while I got our spooky dinner all ready. We had some pretty kid friendly hot dog mummies with baby little smokie mummies and salad, and we ate it in candle light which Reagan usually loves.

Even though she didn't eat all that much candy yesterday, Reagan was up at 4am barfing. After we changed all of her bedding and gave her a bath, we all got back in bed only to hear her throw up again so we had to start the process all over. Needless to say she has skipped preschool today and thankfully we all got to sleep in a little bit since we were all up in the night.

I've already listened to the Carpenter's Christmas Portrait this morning and I'm getting ready to take down all of the Halloween decorations. Happy Halloween and on to Thanksgiving and Christmas!
