Bryce Canyon Family Reunion

We spent the weekend at Bryce Canyon with Jordan's family. We skipped out of town on Friday morning and headed down to Panguitch. After resting for a bit we headed out for a drive. We drove to Cedar Breaks and were totally floored by the changing colors of all of the leaves. I'm not sure if it was the time of day we were out, or the kind of trees, but some of them looked like fire. They were gorgeous. We went to one look out spot and then stopped at Panguitch Lake for some rock throwing.

Saturday we spent all day at the National Park. There's a fire at Bryce Canyon National Park right now so that caused us to change our plans only slightly, but we still ended up with a really full day. We checked out lots of view points in the morning, including Natural Bridge, Piracy Point, Swamp Canyon, Paria View and then we had a picnic lunch at Sunset Point before checking out Thor's Hammer. From there we went to the Visitor Center and then went to hike to Mossy Cave. This was a great little hike. There was a pretty waterfall and a cave to see and it was only .8 miles. Perfect for our little crew. At the end our girls of course couldn't resist dipping their feet in the creek.

It was a great weekend with lots of tasty food, fun games, and family time. Thanks for the getaway Dave and Martha!

^^Reagan's fashion lately.... She has so many opinions and wants to be so "fashion" (fashionable).

Logan to the MTC

Last Wednesday we took our Logan to the Provo MTC. When he originally opened his mission call it said that he was to report to the Mexico MTC leaving on September 11, however just a few days before he was informed that plans had changed and he was to report to the Provo MTC on September 12. It was kind of a bummer because he was excited to see Jackson (our cousin) at the Mexico MTC, but the one extra day ended up being really helpful, like he actually had time to pack and run a few last minute errands.

My mom had been corresponding with another missionary mom whose son was supposed to go to the Mexico MTC the same day and instead of getting switched to Provo MTC his mission got delayed 6 weeks, I think Logan definitely got the better switch. We took pictures at the same spot we did 9 months ago when we dropped Dylan off at the MTC, there was slightly different weather that day. It is so weird that both of my brothers are on missions! I miss them both so much but am so proud of them for serving the Lord for 2 years of their life and sharing the gospel all over the world.

Logan was so so nervous when we dropped him off. The minutes leading up to his drop off time, 12:30, he started moaning and kept doing it without even realizing. It was so funny! By the time we pulled into the parking garage his heart was pounding. He will be a great missionary and he already seems to be loving the MTC. God speed Elder Cox! See you in two!

Utah State Fair

We went to the State Fair on Monday night for family night. Logan and Alex tagged along with us and we loved having them join us, especially Logan just 2 nights before heading to the MTC. We chose to go on Monday because it was All You Can Eat Ice Cream night. We ate dinner there and enjoyed all of the fair food and goodies. The girls have been on a big Charlotte's Web kick so they couldn't stop singing A Fair is a Veritable Schmorgasboard-orgasboard. We checked out the animals and then rode the ferris wheel. Reagan rode her favorite monster truck ride and Naomi rode the ferris wheel. Reagan was not fond of the goat smell, which was hilarious. Even after we left the goat building she said, "It still smells like goats. I do not like the goat smell!" It was a really fun night.

^^I was so tempted to stop in for some "fancy items" but I resisted.

^^If you want to know why I take this girl to Disneyland it's because it's like 2 straight days of this face and seeing her that happy and excited is amazing.
